HelpMates - New Jersey

In Late 2008, our mother was hospitalized for an extended period of time. We knew the best possible place for her to recover, recuperate and gain her strength was in her own home. We also knew that we needed a competent live-in caregiver there to get our Mom back to her prior activity and ability level.

Claire proved to be a wonderful, caring caregiver who provided support and encouragement in just the right does. She guided our Mom through, essentially, a complete change in diet, the introduction of exercise and a focus on a more independent lifestyle. Claire has been an invaluable part of the household, and provided us with a deep sense of security. We always knew that Claire had the best interests of our Mom in mind, watching over her diet, activities and medication.

Dear Bob & Karen,
We are writing this letter on Behalf of Myha in the hopes it will help her to get continued work. Myha lived with our Grandmother for almost nine (9) years until grandma’s death in December. No one could have taken better care of her in all those years. Grandma died at 100 in good spirts with not one bed sore. She fed, bathed and dressed her on a daily basis, while making sure she took her prescribed medicine. After Grandma contracted a blood clot and gangrene set in, Myha was there to treat her wounds and nurse her back to health. Myha was not only her caregiver but her dearest friend and became part of our family.

So there is no thought in our minds that Myha would be an asset anyone seeking excellent health care assistance. Please feel free to contact us at any time to answer any questions.

Very Truly Yours,

Dear Karen,
It is a pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Cynthia. Cynthia took care of my mother from September 2005 until her death in June of this year at the age of 95. She did this with a sense of compassion, always displaying an optimistic and cheerful demeanor.

She took full responsibility for all aspects of my mother’s care and needed little help or guidance from me. She was a problem solver and acted with integrity at all times. My family and I will miss her.

Very truly yours,

To Whom It May Concern,
It saddens me to write this letter of recommendation for it means my beloved mother has passed away. However, it is without reservation that I do so. For the past year and half Sandra has been the live-in caretaker for my mother, Helen. Sandra came to us as an employee and left as a member of the family.

After losing my father, it became necessary to find live-in assistance for Mom who was a stroke survivor with multiple health concerns. It took us a while to find the right agency, Helpmates, and the right caregiver, Sandra. She was the first and only caretaker hired though helpmates to care for Mom. She was a gift from God even though we didn’t know immediately.

Quiet and soft spoken, Sandra cared for Mom gently, compassionately, and as time went on lovingly, I remember how heart wrenching it was the first time we had to leave our mother with a stranger. In no time at all, we could relax. There was absolutely no question that mom was in good hands. Slowly Mom’s health needs increased. Sandra met each of those needs as they arose.

The last three months of Mom’s life were spent in out of the hospital and eventually she came home through the Rahway Hospital Hospice program. Mom was sp thankful to be home. Once again we turned to Sandra. We could never have gone through the Hospice experience without her. We will forever be indebted to Sandra. We found her through Helpmates, but she was heaven sent.
